What are the types of Quantitative analysis and its research types?
The quantitative analysis combines mathematical and Statistical analysis, modelling and research to get the exact picture. Here the data is mainly in the form of numerals because the analysis will be measuring performance prediction, price prediction, financial instruments etc.,
Types of Quantitative analysis
Nominal data type: It is simply a label value. The value has no numerical value or any relationship to other values. A citizen’s gender and occupation. By default, we are unable to convert the terms into numeral forms.
Ordinal data type : Categorical data is well-known. We can categorize the data in this data type based on its priority—for example, ten people, 1000 fishermen, and so on.
Interval data type: The range or some scale will be the interval data type. When most of the values are absolute and precise, they can have both integer and float values.
Ratio data type: It is similar to Interval data type, but it has a significant fraction or partition between two value sets. For example, the person’s height and weight.
Qualitative Research categories [2]
Case study
Attempts to provide insight on a phenomenon by researching a single case example of the phenomenon in depth. A person, an event, a group, or an institution can be the subject of the case.
Grounded theory
To comprehend the social and psychological dynamics that define an event or circumstance.
Phenomenology
Defines the structures of experience as they present themselves to consciousness, without recourse to theory, judgment, or assumptions from other disciplines
Ethnography
Through extensive field observation of sociocultural phenomena, this course focuses on sociological phenomena. Typically, an ethnographer will concentrate on a community.
Historical
Systematic collection and objective evaluation of data related to past occurrences in order to test hypotheses about the causes, effects, or patterns of these events, which may help to explain current events and anticipate future events.
